It is no great secret that we live in a day and age of health and wellness. And I definitely try to be healthy and keep my family so. But there are so many things out there and I am trying not consume more than I need. And I mean anything. Food. Stuff. TV. I may over consume blogs and podcasts. OK food too. Stop judging me. You do it too.

Anyhow here are five easy things I use or do to try keep myself and my family healthy!

1. Nutrition!

You have to keep your body ABLE to do its job. It works non-stop for you fighting germs and healing all the things. In this time of COVID 19 we need it more than ever. Feed it good food. Not talking about low calorie, keto, low fat, high fat or whatever else is going on these days. We can all look into all that ourselves as it pertains to nutrition. I am only talking about trying to eat nutritious food that is as close to unprocessed as possible. Do I still eat junk? Yes of course I do! I just try really hard to make sure we all eat real food that is good for you. The instant pot really helps me with this because cooking takes so LONG. Maybe I should make a post of things I cook with it? Let me know!

2. Elderberry drops!

I just started using these after my nutritionist bestie told me about them. I give them to all my kiddos minus baby to bolster their immune system. Elderberry is well renowned for its immune boosting properties. You can follow my nutritionist bestie at healthandhealingnutrition.com. She has great knowledge and her passion is mamas!

3. Supplements!

This is definitely more for me as a woman. Also for the mom in me. You may need something completely different. Perhaps you know somewhere you lack, for instance eating veggies. You can try a greens supplement. Also a multivitamin to help add back what you may be missing. Mothers especially deplete their own store for their bodies when pregnant and breastfeeding. Doesn’t always happen but why risk it?

Also I have lost a lot of hair over my last four pregnancies and I am trying a specific vitamin supplement called Nutrafol to try to combat that. It also contains selenium which is great for your thyroid function and who doesn’t need help with that postpartum?

4. Sleep!

Make sure you are getting enough sleep people! It is so important to everything you probably want. I think I am right about you anyway. Health and wellness, weight control, muscle building, healing, stress, hormone regulation and so much more. For my kids, we have a sound machine by Hatch that we love. It helps so much to get them to sleep and I think stay asleep longer. It has an app that I can control from my phone, you can set programs, use it as an ok to wake light or use it as a nightlight too! Now my kids are notoriously bad sleepers when teething but this thing helps. I know that it is easier said than done with babies and littles but we need a full cup in order to pour out for everyone else.

5. Exercise!

I will be the first to admit that I don’t do this enough. And I am a broken record because I talk about this in almost every post. But it is true that moving your body keeps you healthy. I am trying to keep up with Robin Sharma’s 5 AM Club. It is very similar to many self help gurus recommendations. You can check out his book to see more but one of his tenets is to move your body for 20 minutes a morning. My most recent baby was the most difficult one for me to recover. It has taken me longer to get back into moving than in the past but I am trying to incorporate mini sessions. It is also easier with my many children. They can participate and don’t get bored. I have been focusing on my core so lots of exercises that everyone can do. Things like planks, bridges, leg lifts and so on.

In conclusion, everyone is alive and well so I believe these to work! Hopefully they will work for you too. And hand washing. Please wash your hands. 🙂
